Year 10 Business students explore Financial Literacy

Our Year 10 Business Management students recently participated in the University of Melbourne Street Finance Workshop program delivered across three engaging sessions. The workshops introduced students to important financial concepts and provided practical tools to help them make informed financial decisions in the future.

Throughout the program, students explored budgeting strategies, money management tools, and the concept of the time value of money.

The workshops encouraged students to think critically about spending, saving, and long term financial planning, equipping them with valuable life skills as they prepare for future employment and financial independence.

We thank the School of Business and Economics for providing our students with this valuable opportunity and for delivering such an informative and engaging program.

RBA PRESENTATION

Business management and legal studies students recently had the opportunity to attend a presentation from the Reserve Bank of Australia (RBA), where they explored the role economics plays in everyday life and the many career pathways available within the field.

Students gained valuable insights into how the economy functions, including discussions around inflation, employment, and the broader factors that influence financial decision making in Australia. Whilst we did not leave with any insider information regarding the next interest rate rise, students certainly left with a deeper understanding of the workings of society and the economy around them.

The presentation also highlighted the diverse range of careers within economics, including roles in research, policy, finance, health and consumer behaviour.
