Principal's Report

2026 NAPLAN results are now available for parents to collect from the office for students in year 3 and 5. We analyse and review NAPLAN data each year along with other school based assessments which helps teachers plan and provide targeted learning experiences.
Our Lancefield School Council would like to thank the Lancefield Hotel for their wonderful support organising and running our Winter Solstice trivia night and two recent Friday night raffles. Such wonderful community support for our school and students. Funds raised will go towards supporting our ICT program and the purchase of new chromebooks and other ICT materials required for classrooms.
As you may know by now, this term Kirsty is on 'loan' to the North Eastern region in a new role of Health and Wellbeing Support Officer for term 3. I know she is super busy learning new skills and enjoying the different environments and challenges. If you have any student wellbeing concerns please in the first instance, reach out to your child/ren's teacher. I am here happy to support you and Kate (Education Support Staff member) is working in a wellbeing support role this term.
Our year 6s are plotting and planning with the Men's Shed on an great project for our school. I'm not going to give too much away except to tell you the project is call "Little Lancefield". That may give you somethin
g to think about! We are also working with some businesses in our community on this project. The year 6s will be spending some time learning some new skills for this project at the men's shed during the term.
Thank you also to the Men's' Shed for creating our new Street Library! Its just beautiful and is installed. Don't forget to take a look at the front High Street gate and also drop a book off if you have one to donate.
If you have any changes in circumstances and your child/ren's enrolment is looking to change for 2027, please let us know as soon as possible so that we can be more accurate with our enrolment numbers and planning. Also if you have a 2027 prep student not yet enrolled now is the time! Transition for 2027 preps begins in term 4
We are in the depths of winter weather and with that comes a range of viruses and illness. Please keep unwell children home until they are fully recovered to manage the demands of school. Children must be fully recovered from symptoms of vomiting and or diarrhea for at least 24 hours before returning to school.
We encourage parents, carers and students to:
• wash or sanitise your hands thoroughly and regularly, particularly before and after touching your face
• cough or sneeze into your elbow
• stay home if unwell and consult your GP or Nurse-on-Call as needed
• stay up to date with your flu and COVID-19 vaccinations.
Flu vaccination is recommended for everyone aged 6 months and over. Some people are more at risk of severe illness from flu and are eligible for free vaccination as part of the National Immunisation Program. Flu vaccinations can be booked through GPs and pharmacies. Many can give a COVID-19 booster at the same time.
