Performing Arts

The year is already in full flight and the Broadley Performing Arts Centre is a hive of activity.

After auditions for this year’s Middle Years Production, rehearsals are now running and Frozen JR will be an exciting show! The Junior School Production for this year was also announced, Disney’s Alice in Wonderland JR, and Year 6 are eagerly anticipating their auditions. Keep your eyes out for tickets to these shows, set to hit the stage in Term 3.

Auditions were also completed for the auditioned Music Ensembles, with all groups preparing for Open Day, the ANZAC Service and the Ensemble Evenings, all planned for Term 2.

The boys of Senior Vocal Ensemble dazzled the large crowd at the first School at Work, asking the question Who Put The Bomp In The Bomp De Bomp De Bomp? 

Sforzando, the College’s auditioned woodwind ensemble, entertained at a breakfast to celebrate International Women’s Day, held at the Chirnside Park Community Centre and organised by Cire. The music presented by these talented students, under the leadership of Mrs Christine Clarke, was appreciated by all in attendance, including Aaron Violi MP and Mayor Jim Child.

The Junior Vocal Ensemble have led worship at Junior School Chapel and shared the song I Will Sing as a call to worship. Our Junior School Performing Arts Captains, Zachary Y and Grace W, have both featured as Performers of the Week and stunned both students and staff with their solo piano performances.

Our Open Music Ensembles in both the Junior and Senior Schools are experiencing record numbers and students are certainly enjoying their music making. We look forward to many more opportunities to showcase the talents of our Performing Arts students.
