Year 10 Aqua Camp

Monday 17 to Thursday 20 February this year saw the Year 10 students completing their Aqua Camp activities around the Mornington Peninsula. Students participated in some common activities such as stand-up paddling and snorkelling, and then additional activities suited to their stream of SCUBA, Surfing or Boating. Each group followed their own schedule of activities, taking buses to many different sites, and then spent the evenings with their whole level.

As usual, this camp proved to be highly popular, enabling students to try new activities with their friends and enjoy extended time with their cohort. Their behaviour was commendable and a credit to their families and school. They were a pleasure to work with as they enjoyed this camp.

SCUBA Group

This camp has by far been the best camp I have ever been on. The food was fabulous. We had cookie cake and yummy brekkies. We were able to go snorkelling under the pier and saw many fish and even saw a sting ray. However, the best part of camp was scuba diving with the seals on the last day. Tori S (10.1)

In my opinion, this camp is the best camp I’ve ever been on. The activities were all fun and the staff were helpful and friendly. Especially the staff in SCUBA; they helped me a lot and I'm very thankful to them! I also enjoyed the free time and dinner time because that’s the time I can spend with my friends. And the food in camp is also amazing. I loved the garden salad on the first night. All in all, the whole camp is good and brought me unforgettable memories. Joyce C (10.1)

I really enjoyed all the activities that we participated in. It was such an amazing opportunity to go and experience SCUBA diving and snorkelling and I loved being able to see God’s creation under the sea. Camp was a great time to bond with new people and make new friends; and being able to get involved and explore with the activities and the people around me was a definite highlight. Ellyse L (10.4)

Surfing Group

This year’s camp was one of my favourites! I was initially sceptical about swimming with seals, but once I started snorkelling, it became unforgettable. It reminded me of how God created all living creatures, from the fish to the seals and even the big birds. I also really enjoyed the game night run by Mr Monro (especially since my team won!). A big thank you to Mrs Bell, the teachers, and the instructors for making this experience so special. San Lian B (10.2)

The Aqua Camp was something very unique and something definitely worth making the most of. The week was packed with sessions, and with being in the surfing group, I was able to enjoy early morning surfs near Point Leo, snorkelling under a pier at Rye and going out from the bay to swim with seals in their under (and above) water world. The food at any camp is something everyone definitely takes note of, and at this camp the food was made at a great standard. Filling meals before activities, delicious diners at night times, and of course the in between snacks, including a delectable slice of chocolate cake (yum!). So overall, Aqua Camp is for sure a highlight of the year and something to make the most of in the four days that you get. Taylor R (10.4)

Boating Group

Year 10 Camp was incredible! Power boating was so thrilling – it felt like I was flying over the water. The highlight was the free time with my friends. We shared lots of laughs and great moments. Angus S (10.1)

The positive about camp was the activities that the boating group did. Gloria G (10.1)
