Term 4 2024
Welcome back! Term 4 already! We have a very exciting term planned.
Sovereign Hill Excursion: September 17, 2024
Our much-anticipated trip to Sovereign Hill was a great success. Student's stepped back in time to the days of the gold rush. The immersive experience saw history come to life, with hands-on activities and fascinating insights into our nation's past.
Literacy
Biographies
During our reading unit in the beginning of this term will learn about Biographies. Students will read biographies about significant people during Australia's Colonial history. We will learn about the impact these people had on Australia and why they are remembered today. We will understand the structure and techniques authors use to make biographies interesting. In writing we will be selecting a significant colonial person and conducting research on their lives so that we can create our own biography.
Maths
We have begun Term 4 with a focus on applying efficient problem solve strategies to division word problems. Students need to utilise the knowledge of multiplication facts to support them in solving each word problem. Students will then be learning Algebra by being taught to recognise and explain the connection between multiplication and division using materials, diagrams or arrays. Students will work with hands on materials, have discuss with partners and explain how they are able to solve the problems.
Inquiry
Australia's Colonial History
Our inquiry focus this term carries on from the knowledge gained in Australia's Colonial history in Term 3. Students will focus on a significant person from Australia's history before 1901. Students will create story boards, write scripts and record videos about their significant person to demonstrate their understanding and entertain others.
2025 Captain Speeches
Speeches are an excellent way for students to express themselves and develop strong communication skills. We will be writing speeches and presenting them to our peers to boost confidence and public speaking abilities. This process will select our captains for 2025.
Upcoming Art Show:

The creativity and talent of our students will shine at the upcoming Art Show, scheduled for November 26th. You'll be amazed by the stunning artworks our students have created this term. It's a fantastic opportunity to celebrate their artistic achievements.
