Welcome back to the exciting fourth Term of Italian. Students from Prep to year Six will be able to participate in a range of tasks designed at improving their conversational and written skills in Italian.
Prep students will continue to practice meeting others and answering basic enquiries about themselves. Students will learn to count to 40 and name animals, colours and family members. Chants, songs, and learning activities will help students build confidence in their oral pronunciation.
Students in Grades One and Two will be introduced to new linguistic and cultural elements of Italy through a variety of themes. Students will learn about body parts, family members, colours, and how to count to forty in Italian. Chants, songs, will increase students' confidence in speaking Italian.
Students in Grades Three and Four will continue to utilise greetings, ask and answer questions about themselves and others, and write short phrases. Students will study adjectives and how to describe themselves and members of their family. Chants, songs, and learning exercises will help students improve their spoken pronunciation.
During Term four, students in Grades Five and Six will continue to use greetings and ask and respond to questions about themselves using appropriate pronunciation. Students have begun reading and writing short sentences in Italian using adjectives. In addition, they will be learning to express likes and dislikes, count to sixty, name colours and animals, and use appropriate pronunciation.
