Subject Selection Handbooks

The College Subject Selection Handbooks are designed to support you and your family in making excellent, considered and informed choices. It will provide information about the structure of our programs and the career pathways to follow. Families: Please engage in this process and participate in your child’s learning – there is no better gift to a child, than an excellent education. It will create a lifetime of choice and opportunity. For many reasons, this is a critical phase in the life of our young people and we must work together to ensure the best possible outcomes.

Subject Information Videos

Subject information videos have been created to help Year 11 and 12 students better understand the subjects on offer. Hear from teachers and gain first-hand insights from current students about their experiences studying each subject.

Year 10 (2027)

The College is currently working with year 10 students to help them select individual programs for their final two years of secondary education.  Students in year 10 are at a critical junction in their education journey as they move into the Victorian Certificate of Education (VCE or VCE Vocational Major,) in 2027.  Our students need support to prepare them for the rigour and expectations of the VCE, and this is best achieved when families, students and staff work together in partnership. 

 

To build learning confidence and to support students and their families in determining the correct program for each individual, the College will be conducting the following events:

On June the 22nd, 23rd and 24th our year 10 students will have a customised program.  To improve rigour, support positive study habits and build exam confidence, exam revision sessions will be scheduled to support preparation for year 10 exams.  Over these three days, individual student/family pathway interviews will also be booked.  We strongly encourage families to attend with their student. These interviews are an initiative, designed to improve our course selection process and support students in future study and employment opportunities.

In addition, we invite families to attend a VCE Webinar, scheduled at 5.30pm on Wednesday 3rd June.  This webinar will give an overview of the different pathways available in year 11 and 12 and the subjects students can select that supports each individual pathway.
