Volunteer Umpiring
We had several students who were kind enough to volunteer their time to help with umpiring primary school soccer, netball and AFL games. This was very helpful to our local primary schools running the inter-school sports programs as well as a great community engagement activity for our students. Thank you.
Gippsland Year 7 Boys Football
Yinnar Football grounds were a hive of activity last Wednesday, with our Year 7 boys doing very well in all 3 games, winning against Lowanna, Leongatha and Lavalla Secondary Schools. The group played very connected football throughout the day, setting their sights on the state semi-finals in August. Congratulations BSC!
Gippsland Senior Girls Football
Our girls football team played so well during the 3-game event held at Catholic College Sale sports ovals. BSC won its first game against Bass Coast by 40 points, followed by a very tight low scoring draw against Drouin 7 – 7. With it all counting on a win in the last game against Catholic College Sale, BSC was put to the test by excellent opposition. Coming up 9 points shy on the final siren, the girls can hold their heads high in the knowledge they performed great as a team and gave it their all.
East Gippsland Cross Country
Greeted by clear sunny skies, competitors ran the beautiful Lakes Entrance Golf Course testing themselves against East Gippsland’s distance runners. With the Boys 16 year old and 17-20 year old age groups completing the 5km course, the rest of the age groups were committed to 3000 meters of spongey grass and long fairways. Competitors ran strong and fast as they gave their all, with 27 BSC students progressing to the regional level at Drouin Golf Course next Thursday.
NSW Skeet Titles
Jack competed at Wagga over Friday, Saturday and Sunday at the NSW State Skeet Titles. Jack shot well on Friday in the 410-gauge 50 target event shooting 48/50 the equal highest score. He then went into a shoot off for the overall win and State Title but unfortunately lost the shoot off. This meant he was then 1st in AA grade for the event. On Sunday in the 100 target 12-gauge event the premier event of the carnival Jack shot clean shooting 100/100 giving him the overall win and is now the 2026 NSW 12-gauge open Champion. Jack was also the junior High Gun winner. With this State title he also gets another 10 points towards his hall of fame he now has 40 points in total. With the NSW title this is his third open state title win this year.
