Principal's Report

As we head into the final days of Term 2 it is a great opportunity to reflect on what has been a fantastic term. There have been many highlights, from the success of our Open Night and the Grade 4 camp, to the outstanding efforts of our cross country runners as they’ve competed at various stages. Our students put on a show at the Mid-Year Soiree, student learning has been celebrated through mid-year reports and parent-teacher conferences, and we’ve finished it all off with our whole-school swimming program. A huge thank you to all our staff, students and parent helpers for all they have contributed to making this such a busy and successful term.

I hope everyone stays warm over the break. It’s a great chance to slow down and enjoy some well deserved quality time with your family before we head into the second half of 2026.

Mid-Year Soiree

Our Mid-Year Soiree was a fantastic night, with our students doing an amazing job of showcasing their musical talents. The music from all of our performers was outstanding and it was great to see such a strong turnout from families to support the show. Well done to all of our instrumental teachers for preparing our students to perform and thank you to Mrs Shacklock and Miss Wood for the work that went into organising the event. Finally, a huge thank you to our Friends of the Band group that organised the raffle and thank you to everyone who donated.

Regional Cross Country

A huge well done to Charlie H (5th), Charlie R (24th), Max B (17th), Max S (15th) and Phoebe C (73rd) who ran at the Regional Cross Country meet at Yarra Glen recently. It is an incredible achievement to make it this far, advancing through school, district, and division races just to earn a spot against the best runners from across our region. Simply qualifying for this meet is a massive accomplishment, and we’re proud of how they represented BPS.

A special mention goes to Charlie H, who ran an outstanding race to finish 5th overall. That result means Charlie has qualified for the State Cross Country championships early next term. We believe this is a first for our school, having a female student qualify for the state meet, and we couldn't be prouder. Good luck Charlie, we’ll all be cheering you on next term!

National Reconciliation Week Art Display

During Reconciliation Week, our students created a collaborative piece of artwork inspired by First Nations stories. It's a fantastic display of our school's commitment to reconciliation, respect, and learning together. I encourage you to pop into the administration building to take a closer look at our students’ artistic talents.

Epilepsy Foundation Free Dress Day

A huge well done to our Junior School Council for organising our recent free dress day. It was wonderful to see so many students getting behind the cause by wearing a splash of purple. We’re pleased to announce that the day was a huge success, raising $568.10 for the Epilepsy Foundation. A big thanks to everyone who supported the cause on the day!
