Year 8 Camp

It was wonderful to get out to Camp last week, the purpose of the camp is around building relationships between students, but also to build on setting goals and resilience.  It was a pleasure to see students working towards stretch targets on the activities. The saying from the camp that we try and embed in our day to day is "be comfortable being uncomfortable" and everyone that tackled the mud run felt the sense of accomplishment at the end of some seriously hard work.

A huge thanks must go to Shanae Coverdale and Cynthia Kennedy for their organisation and leadership on the camp. It was the first time Shanae has led the camp and I'm sure all parents appreciated the blog updates from the students and wonderful photos they shared.

Attitudes to School Data

The school received its data from the survey that students filled in late last term. The data is really positive with all measures reaching above state averages.

Some really positive areas for the junior school (Yr 7-9) include:

  • Stimulated Learning (+10% on state, +15% on similar schools)

  • Differentiated Learning Challenge (+7% on state, +12% on similar schools)

  • Managing bullying (+12% on state, +14% on similar schools)

Subject Selection

The process has finished for 2027 subjects in all year levels. We are now working in the background to use the student selections to create a blocking system that will allow all students the best possible scenario. We will endeavour to have subjects communicated to students by week 2 of next term.

GPA Reports

A reminder that GPA reports are available on Compass. Please read the report with your child, given the work bans this is the first occassion we have been able to report about work habits since Term 1. If you have any questions please get in contact with the classroom teacher or coordinator.

Conferences are happening on 16 September but are online only. More details will be released soon.
