Music Department

Term 3 is always a very exciting time for our instrumental music students as we have been preparing for our annual ‘Music Showcase’ event which will be happening on Wednesday the 9th of September. Students in Concert Band, String Orchestra, Chorale, Intermediate Band and Junior Band have been working hard preparing new repertoire which they began learning on Music Camp at the beginning of term. Showcase is especially exciting for our Year 7 students in Junior Band, as this will be their first performance as a band. The evening will also feature performances from many of our senior students and for some, this will be their last music performance at Norwood. 

We’re also very excited to be hosting another lunch time music event the very next day for R U OK? Day, which will feature students from both the instrumental program and the classroom program. Students who signed up have been rehearsing and arranging their pieces in their own time and this will be a completely student led gig, so be sure to head to the main courtyard outside the hall to hear our incredible students performing.
