Lord God,

We live in a world that is often cruel

and filled with a wisdom and values opposed to yours,

where might is right, weakness is crushed, reason steamrolled.

But your graciousness, goodness, mercy

and loving kindness have entered the

world in Christ and given us unshakable hope.

Give us simplicity of heart,

heavenly wisdom and a genuine desire

to be the last and the least and servant of all,

and to welcome the little ones as we would welcome you.
