International Baccalaureate 

An important skill for PYP learners is the ability to value their own experiences while respecting the diverse stories and perspectives of others. This helps students develop a strong sense of identity, belonging and connection to their families and wider community. 

Throughout Term 3, students explored the central idea: “Experiences from the past shape the way we live and connect"

Students investigated how significant experiences, family traditions, cultural backgrounds, special places and treasured objects influence who we are today. They made meaningful connections between the past and the ways people live, build relationships and connect with their families and communities.

A highlight of the term was the creation of our Year 3 Museum Galleries. Students selected personal artefacts, photographs and objects that represented important memories, traditions or experiences. They carefully considered the story behind each item and explained how it had shaped their identity, values or connections with others.

As visitors explored the galleries, students proudly shared their stories and responded thoughtfully to questions. This experience helped them develop their communication, research and self-management skills. It also encouraged them to be open-minded as they listened to the diverse experiences and perspectives of their classmates.

The museum galleries reminded us that every object can hold a story and that our experiences, both big and small, help shape who we are.

We are incredibly proud of the curiosity, confidence and thoughtfulness demonstrated by our Year 3 students throughout this learning journey. Thank you to our families for helping students gather artefacts, share family stories and celebrate the experiences that shape how we live and connect.
