Junior Active Travel Leaders-Bike Maintenance

Our Junior Active Travel Leaders recently participated in a two-day bike workshop with Mr Bart, where they developed valuable skills and knowledge about bike safety, maintenance and repair.

As part of the Junior Active Travel Leader Program, Bart delivers hands-on maintenance workshops. Students learnt about the different parts of a bicycle, how to check tyre pressure, identify and repair common bike issues, such as repairing a puncture, pumping tyres, adjusting brakes, checking chains, and replacing bells or grips – helping them stay confident and independent on their bikes and safely change and adjust bike components. 

It was fantastic to see our Junior Active Travel Leaders working collaboratively, asking questions and confidently developing their bike maintenance skills!
