INTERMEDIATE BASKETBALL / PLAYER INTERVIEWS
INTERMEDIATE BOYS - Thursday 3rd Sept
Harry: I’m here with Zac, one of Korumburra’s young superstars. Zac, how did you boys go today?
Zac: Yeah, we went alright. We won two games and lost one. We had a hardcore battle against Wonthaggi that came down to the wire for a spot in the Grand Final, but unfortunately we couldn’t get it done.
Harry: What went wrong? What issues did the team face?
Zac: I reckon they were just a really tall team… and they got A LOT of offensive rebounds.
Harry: Who stood out for you today?
Zac: Probably Tyler. He hit a lot of threes and was really good on the fast break.
Harry: Well, lucky for us, Tyler is standing right here! Tyler, Zac has named you Player of the Day. No pressure…
How did you go?
Tyler: With about 25 seconds left, one of their players hit my arm. Luckily, I got sent to the free-throw line and made all three.
Harry: ALL THREE?! Under pressure?!
Tyler: Yep.
Harry: So you were one point down. What happened next?
Tyler: They inbounded the ball, but Ned intercepted it with his persistent pressure. He was really good all day. Then he passed it to Cade, who luckily made the layup.
Harry: So, just to confirm… you were ONE point down, Ned steals it, Zade scores, and you win?
Tyler: Yep!
Harry: And what was the final result?
Tyler: We won by one point.
Harry: Some quick maths from Tyler there. You heard it here first.
Big effort from the Korumburra boys!
Harry Whelan reporting. Bringing you the hard-hitting questions, the questionable maths and the basketball!
