Over the school holidays four new Aquabubblers were installed in locations around the school yard. A special feature of the newly installed Aquabubblers is the custom-made artwork on the sides - created by two of our very own talented Wheelers Hill Secondary College students!
Jacinta Vathanavong and Summer (Alphie) Hall during Art Club and in their own time created artwork to a specific brief and deadline, that was then printed and installed on the sides of the Aquabubblers. When you are next filling up your drink bottle at the Aquabubblers please have a look at their amazing work.
Congratulations Ben Miller - Year 10
Ben has won the Reilly Art Prize for his portrait of a resident in the Lifeview Retirement village winning $4000.
The Reilly Art Prize is an Australian intergenerational art competition for secondary school students in Years 10, 11, and 12. The prize involves students being paired with residents from a Lifeview aged care home to create an artwork inspired by the resident's story. Ben was given permission to crochet his portrait instead of creating a painting as he felt more comfortable doing it that way.
