Science - Year 11 & Year 7

Creating Futures Together

Year 11 Chemistry - Determining the concentration of CO2 in soft drinks experiment

Year 11 Chemistry students completed their last experiment for this term. Carbon dioxide makes soft drinks fizzy and slightly acidic due to the formation of carbonic acid. This experiment used acid–base titration to measure the concentration of CO₂ in different soft drinks. Students will present their investigation and findings in a scientific poster.

Year 7 Science - Electrostatic balloons bending water experiment

Year 7 Science students are learning contact and non-contact forces. Students have learnt that some forces can act on objects without physically contacting. The electrostatic balloon is a good demonstration of some magic non-contact force.
