Year 8 Wellbeing Day
Creating Futures Together
Late last term Year 8 Students participated in a Wellbeing Day to focus on activities outside of their regular learning that allowed students to engage in hands on projects and tasks that explored their creativity and mental health.
Student Reflection
"Year 8 Wellbeing Day was a day when we could meet and get to know people we don’t usually talk to and get to know them! This was only for Year 8s, we were broken up into groups and completed activities with them. There were some very interesting and fun activities like watching Battle of the Bands which was when bands from our school would play songs for us and battle it out for the winner.
Another activity was the scavenger hunt which was when we had to work in pairs or 3s, and collect stickers scattered across the school, and we would then get chocolates from Miss Kennedy as a prize! It was fun meeting new people, interacting with them, it was planned well, and some activities like ‘Attitude for Gratitude”, made you really think and reflect a lot about yourself. Overall, it was a day that I enjoyed a lot, and I like a day where we could socialise with new people."
