Senior Boys Cricket

This week we saw our Bairnsdale Secondary College Senior Cricket team take on our old sparring partner, Nagle College at the Nagle College Cricket Oval. Perfect conditions greeted these quality cricket teams, with BSC opening the batting.

Winning the toss, Zach and his team chose to take advantage of the fresh crease. Zach and Kobe started off strong, developing a good partnership of 34, before Kobe was caught out. In came Lochie, chasing some form, and hit a quick 38, just when it was necessary.

These two formed a great partnership and between them, they produced a solid innings. Zach was able to contribute an unbeatable 76, before being bowled out by Hadden, from Nagle. Losing a number of wickets quickly, BSC team finished the innings 7/150.

Then it was our turn to field.

Bowling started off well with Taj - 1/6 creating a good opportunity for John to take an extended one hand catch, to get that all important first wicket. With Jovi setting up shop in very short cover, to intimidate the Nagle batters, the home team found themselves struggling to find runs and avoid losing wickets, with BSC’s presence in attack undeniable. A very commendable 1/9 from Tyler, and 3/7 from Zayn, helped BSC take the win by 73 runs, in an entertaining hit out.

The final score being BSC: 7 for 150, defeating Nagle: all out for 77.

A special mention to Jack, Ollie, Beau and Brodie, rounding out an excellent example of teamwork, for the Bairnsdale Secondary College.
