It has been 13 years in the making, and on Tuesday 9 November Year 12 students started the HSC examinations. There was much trepidation, but also a sense of relief, that the last six months of preparation and study under challenging circumstances are over and the long-awaited exams are here.
It was wonderful to see Year 12 at school, and even better to see smiles of relief at the end of the first English exam!
On behalf of all your teachers, good luck Year 12!
Year 7 have returned to onsite learning, embracing the opportunity to be back together or their learning. When asked on the first day of return how they felt, the majority said ‘so happy’. They are taking all changes needed in their stride – completing assessments in
new ways, from online tests to pre-recorded monologues, and ‘cohorting’ before school and at recess and lunch.
Good habits developed during lockdown, like increasing their reading for pleasure, have also continued, as seen with Zara Ahsan before school of a morning, who uses the later start to dive into a book!
It’s great to see you back at school Year 7!
