Tournament of Minds
This weekend four teams of Academic Excellence students are heading to ECU, Joondalup to participate in the Tournament of Minds. They have been working hard since the start of term on their solutions to some very complicated challenges.
Two STEM teams have discovered some objects from out of space which have coded messages on them. When placed together the objects give a fourth special message. Their task was to produce these objects and research how to get them back into space to the International Space station. They need to use CGI to show the trajectory of the rocket they will use to send the objects to space.
The two Language Literature teams’ challenge is to re-work a classic story. They must produce promotional material using a range of media so that they gradually reveal features of the plot and finally the name of the classic story. The students have made movie trailers, posters and even written their own songs and made their own music. Awesome work!
