Term 3 Sports Report

We have had yet another very successful second half of the term with lots of our students involved in a variety of different sports – We had 60 teams and almost 800 students out at different stages throughout the term.

We hosted the table tennis and futsal competitions at school, whilst our basketball and hockey teams also competed at external venues. Within these competitions we had a lot of success, with all boys basketball teams advancing and 2 out of the three girls teams advancing through to the SMR Finals, which shows that our Basketball Squad program that is running Tuesday and Thursday mornings is providing great development to our students. We had a number of Table Tennis and Hockey teams also advance to SMR Finals.

Our Aerobics team travelled to the Gold Coast for the National Championships  Soloists Jasmine Tostovrsnik (Year 12) and Poppy Howarth (Year 8) both came 5th in their respective sections.

The Junior team, MSC Anarchy, took away the bronze medal. Whilst the Seniors and Courteney Boulter in the MSC Dream Team took away the National gold medal.

The HPV Program is in full swing at the moment, The team has been training at Casey Fields in the lead up to the big event in November. We will have our first all-girls team entered at the Energy Breakthrough in November, which is great to see more girls involved. A big thanks to our sponsors – Mercedes Benz Mornington, GreenSync, Cleanaway, Fermaxaus and Bridgestone Mornington.

Archie Hewett – competed at the National Cross-Country Championships and finished in 6th place. His team placed in 1st place, so he is a national champion. Well done Archie!!
