Year 11 Geography

Students in Year 11 Geography raced, in pairs, to see who could most accurately (and gently) represent the distances of all planets from the Sun, using toilet paper. As Geographers, these students relate all fieldwork back to ten key geographical concepts that they have been studying this year. In this practical exercise, students were focussing on the concept of Distance by building a scale model of the distances in the solar system.

Students will continue to develop their skills and knowledge throughout the semester, culminating in a field trip to Melbourne Sports and Entertainment Precinct (MSEP). Here students will discover the characteristics and impacts of tourism on the region to satisfy the outcomes required.
