Located in the Student Management area at Holloway Road campus, the Careers Room is open every lunchtime. Students are welcome to come around and browse resources, ask questions, or book an interview with our Careers Practitioner, Deb Hanlen.

Career Tools

In 2023 the college will introduce a comprehensive careers program with many valuable resources for students and parents. You will be able to access these resources via the school website and compass.  More information to come next year.

 

Year 11 and 12 students 2023

 

Over the break would be a good time to apply for a Tax File Number and a USI.

A USI is a unique student identifier which is required when you apply for tertiary courses and a Tax File number is required to enrol in a course. Both are free but do require some form of identification.

Summer School

The VCE Summer School (VCESS) is a two-week tutoring program that takes place in January and aims to help VCE students gain a head start to their VCE program. Students can now apply for the upcoming VCESS in January 2023, which will take place online and on the University of Melbourne campus.

Year 11 and 12 students – Holiday Science Program (Cost $115)

MYSci is a three-day science program specifically designed for students who will be in Year 11 and 12 in 2023. The program has been significantly revised from the 2022 event, and so if you attended in 2022, you can also attend in 2023!

This program schedule will include:

  • hands-on workshops
  • access to our brilliant teaching facilities
  • opportunity to meet some of our Research Scientists
  • exposure to potential career pathways
  • activities with the Young Scientists of Australia
  • social activities

MONASH UNIVERSITY

FACULTY OF ENGINEERING

 

Monash Engineering has a number of events coming up in January for secondary students.  All events are free, being run on campus by current or past engineering students, and designed to give participants a fun, hands-on experience of Engineering.

 

ENGage ENGineer is for any interested students in years 9 or 10 in 2023.  It will run for two days, 16-17 January, and involves a number of interactive workshops conducted by the Engineering Student teams and clubs.

 

Engineering Skills Day is for young women, years 10-12 in 2023. It will be run by the Women in Engineering at Monash (WEM) student group and will involve hands-on activities, including building a robotic claw.

 

Steam City is for young women, years 9-12 in 2023, and explores different types of engineering through building a miniature city. It will run on 24 January and the activity  is led by one of our engineering graduates.
