Leadership Report

This year has been an amazing year at Magill School. Despite all that is going on around us, the staff and students have focused on maintaining a safe an supportive learning environment. This has enabled us to deliver a full and rich learning program for our students.

Parents and caregivers have been extremely supportive of the ever-changing rules and protocols in place and I can't thank our community enough for their patience and understanding. Without this, we would not have been able to provide the quality learning that has taken place this year.

I feel privileged to lead the outstanding staff here at Magill School. Everyone that works at Magill does their best every day to ensure that every child can achieve and succeed. They are  truly professional and their ability to put aside all their concerns amidst the pandemic, and focus on delivering a quality learning program is to be commended.

2021 is the last year with Year 7 students and so this year we have worked with a double cohort (Year 6 and Year 7) to transition to high school. I wish all students who are leaving the very best for their future education and hope that they hold great memories of their time at Magill School for many years to come.

It's also that time of the year where we say goodbye to staff who are moving onto new positions and different challenges. I wish the following staff the every best for the future and thank them for their wonderful contribution to Magill School:

Michael Niedzwiecki

Maria Foot

Steph King

Sunitha McCarey

 Ben Opitz

Lucy Cirocco

Eryn Brumby

Janet Polglase

Josh Mcilduff

Melissa Lanzilli

I would like to personally thank Daphne Schumacher for her outstanding service to the Magill School community for the last 12 years, and to many other school communities throughout her time as an educator. Many families and children will have fond memories of Daphne's warmth and empathy, qualities that she demonstrated every day. On behalf of the Magill School community, I wish Daphne all the best in her retirement and thank her for her truly amazing contribution to improving the lives and educational outcomes for our students. We'll miss you, Daphne!

Next year, we welcome Daniela Lawlor who will be our Deputy Principal. Daniela comes to us from Glen Osmond Primary School and she will be a great addition to our Leadership team. Daphne has been working closely with Daniela to ensure a smooth transition for the start on 2022.
