North Melbourne Kangaroos

Taylah Gatt - Draft pick 28 for North Melbourne Kangaroos!

Congratulations to Taylah Gatt, one of our Year 12 students, who was successful in Round 1 of  the recent AFLW draft. Taylah was draft pick number 28 for the North Melbourne Football Club.

Taylah was playing as a winger for Dandenong Stingrays, coming from Beleura Junior Football Club, prior to the draft.

The North Melbourne football club described Taylah on their website, nmfc.com.au, as the following;

"A dynamic winger with a lethal combination of speed and endurance, Taylah Gatt possesses the inherent ability to be a line-breaking impact in the wide areas of the ground for the Kangaroos, whether that be through long-distance kicking or running at the opposition defence.

Selected as a Vic Country representative at this year's under-18 championships, Gatt averaged a strong 13 disposals and three marks across her two appearances for the side.

At 170cm she possesses great size for her position, and her ability to improve both her technical footballing skills as well as her size and strength should see her be a huge improver once exposed to senior women's football.

The pace at which she plays the game makes her a difficult prospect to face for opposition defences, and her penchant for taking the game on has the potential to excite fans across the competition."

Mornington Secondary College is extremely proud of Taylah and wish her every success playing for the Kangaroos and for a successful career in the AFLW.
