Principal's Message

The end of Term 3 has been a busy one for our school and others throughout the state. We’re happy to say that together we made it through what has been a constantly-changing and sometimes difficult term. We could not have done it without the commitment from all of our families who supported learning from home, and from our fantastic teaching and school staff. I want to thank you all for your efforts to continue to keep our school community safe – I know everyone has faced different challenges at different times through the term.

The old saying that ‘necessity is the mother of invention’ never rings so true than in times of adversity. This term I have seen some incredible outcomes from students who have worked very hard to stay on top of their learning, I have seen the development of innovative ways of our staff staying in touch with their students, and I have witnessed the generosity of spirit of our entire community in looking out for each other in these difficult times.

As our Year 12 students head into the last few weeks of their secondary schooling we wish them all the very best with their HSC exams. What a challenging time you have all had over your senior schooling! Thank you to the P&C for your generous donation of vouchers from Era Coffee to our Year 12 students, keeping them caffeinated this week for their return to school. Our Year 12s will be on-site and in classes until the end of October, and then a brief stuvac period before exams begin on 9 November. We await advice in Term 4 about what Valedictory and the Formal might look like and when they can occur. It is so important that these coming-of-age milestones are celebrated and that we recognise the importance of them.

Our new Year 7 Year advisers, Gemma Cameron and Millie Graham, along with Tobie White have been putting together an online orientation for our incoming students in 2022. We look forward to welcoming you onto our school site as soon as we are able to.

I wish all of you a happy, safe and relaxing holiday. We will see you all back again on Tuesday, 5 October.

Ms Harvey-Bice
