Tell Them From Me Surveys

In Week 1 of Term 4 students will be participating in the Tell Them From Me (TTFM) Student Survey Snapshot 2

The Tell Them From Me Student Survey provides school leaders with insights student engagement, wellbeing and effective teaching practices at their school, from the perspective of students. It is designed as an ‘opt-out’ arrangement: if you do not wish for your child to participate, please fill in the Non-Consent Form and return it to school. Alternatively, email Ms Lovelock with your withdrawal of consent and please specify which child/children and I will ensure they are not given the survey.

Its magpie season!

A recent message from Armidale's National Parks and Wildlife Service office:

It is that time of year when magpies have started nesting, we get an annual reminder by the low proportion (10%) of birds that show aggressive behaviour towards people during this time. The urban environment is one that has favoured such species, school grounds are particularly attractive to magpies because of the open spaces and the amount of food that students inadvertently leave for the birds. It is important that schools foster a positive attitude to wildlife with children. NPWS sees educating our children in the basic ecology and associated behaviours of these birds as paramount in instilling patience during this month in children and families.

It is important to understand that like most Australian native fauna, magpies are protected and there are heavy fines for the unauthorised harming of wildlife.
