Stage 4
Welcome Back Stage 4!
It has been great to have all our students back at school this week. It provided a great opportunity for students to reconnect with teachers and friends before the holidays. It has also meant that students were able to access the great resources we have here at ASC. We are so proud of all the Stage 4 students who are acting responsibly and ensuring they wear masks while at school.
I have been inundated by nominations for Lockdown Legends. To earn a Lockdown Legend Commendation students needed to be working diligently during lockdown by attending zooms and submitting work on their google classrooms. Year 7 Science
Year 7 Blue and Green classes joined forces to explore the concept of cells in the real world. Students worked together in small groups to make slides of celery, onion and pond water. They then used microscopes to observe the cells on their slides.
It's so great to be back in the laboratory!

Year 7 heritage excursion
Armidale's beautiful autumn colour provided a perfect backdrop for Year 7 Red and Teal's local heritage excursion last term. Accompanied by Ms Armstrong and Mr Ryan, students visited the Armidale Railway Station, Brown Street Heritage Walk, Central Park, Folk Museum and Armidale Regional Council chambers. We reflected on our community's rich local history and enjoyed each other's company as we picnicked in the park.
As a reward for his beautiful manners and excellent engagement, Manaaki Reynolds was invited to sit in the Mayor's chair inside the council chamber.
Teachers, museum and council staff commented that ASC students were among the most courteous and well-engaged they'd seen.
