Principal's message

The highlight of the past fortnight has been the acknowledgement and celebration of our Class of 2019.

Our tradition of welcoming Year 12 students to their final College assembly followed by the 2019 Captains’ speeches was celebrated enthusiastically by our students and the families in attendance. The annual celebration assembly saw an array of bright and creative costumes followed by fun activities and songs. The Valedictory evening was held at Bayview Eden. Speeches, acknowledgement of both the top students in VCE studies and their teachers  set the scene for a night of dancing. Parents made a point of thanking the College and its staff for the excellent educational opportunities  provided for their daughters at MGSC. Our Year 12 students are currently preparing for their final examinations commencing on Wednesday for a four week period. Thank you to the Senior School staff for all the work that went into planning all events.

For the rest of the College the past two weeks have gone fast with many events occurring. We’ve celebrated Diwali, had Headspace presentations for our Year 10 students, held the Grade 6 Instrumental music information evening, enjoyed Vocal evening and our Year 9 Outdoor Education class had a three day camp at Wilson’s Promontory. A personal highlight was attending the Unit 2 Theatre Studies performance, extracts of The Crocodile by Tom Basden.

Our staff are busily preparing their students for their final assessments for the year. There has been a lot of “behind the scenes” planning for the timetable, staffing and the Headstart program. Please check the College Calendar for all of the key dates. Thank you to all our staff who are working hard to meet the many deadlines for this term.

Please note: the 2020 French Tour information evening will be held at the College on Wednesday 30 October.
