Whitehorse City Council’s Parenting Information Forums

Beats, Rhymes and Life – Music, Hip-hop and Creative Writing Program

Beats, Rhymes and Life is a free music, hip hop and creative writing drop in program for young people where they can learn to make beats, write raps, perform and record tracks.

 

Where: Youth ConneXions, Box Hill Central

When: Fridays 4-6 pm for 8 weeks.

May 10, 17, 24, 31.

June 7, 14, 21, 28

Cost: FREE!

  • Young people can  learn how to make beats, finger drum, write lyrics, rap and record a song depending on what they are interested in.
  • The program provides a supportive, friendly and relaxed environment for young people to explore their creativity. No experience necessary and all skill levels welcome.
  • Young people will have access and support to use recording facilities, a Push2 - a powerful, expressive instrument that gives you hands-on control of an unlimited palette of sounds, and there will opportunities for participants to perform their music live if they choose to.
  • A highly talented and experienced facilitator from Sound of the Future http://www.soundofthefuture.org will be running the program along with an experienced youth worker.

‘Whitehorse City Council’s June Parenting Information Forum - Understanding & Responding to Children's Behaviours (0-10 years)

Presented by Angela McGann from Early Life Foundation, on Tuesday 18th  June at the Whitehorse Centre in Nunawading.

Times:   7:30pm-9pm (Registrations open from 7pm with tea and coffee served)

Where: Whitehorse Centre (Rear of 379-397 Whitehorse Road, Nunawading)

Cost:      $2 gold coin donation payable on the night

Let’s Talk about Parenting Course

Are you:

  • Coping with your own parenting dilemma?
  • Join a group of parents for 5 weeks to learn together about parenting!

When:

Term 2: Every Tuesday from the 30th April until the 4th June 2019

Term 3: Every Monday from 15th July until the 19th August 2019

Term 4: Every Thursday from 24th October until 28th November 2019

Time: All sessions 10am until 12pm

Cost: Gold coin donation per session, if possible
