Year 6 Girls Division Football Championships
After making it through the District round last term, the Year 6 Girls Football team competed in a Division Round Robin Day on Monday 29 July. Toughing it out against six other schools, the girls won 2 out of 5 games placing them in 8th position out of 14 teams. The girls conducted themselves really well and should be very proud of their effort.
A big thank you to Coach Mr Mac!
Year 6 Division Mixed Netball Championships

The team played 3 games with 3 AMAZING wins, putting them through to the Regionals which were held today (8 August) at Cardinia Life (Pakenham) - see report below! Thank you to Mrs Hall for coaching.
Game 1 | BNPS vs OLA (Cheltenham) | 17 - 11 |
Game 2 | BNPS vs St Patrick's Mentone | 22 - 5 |
Final: | BNPS vs Tucker Road Bentleigh | 13 - 12 |
Special thanks to Tim Stickland and Suzi Appel who kindly drove the team to the venue - very much appreciated! Also, to the other parents who came to watch, thanks for your ongoing support of our Netball team.
Year 6 Regional Mixed Netball Championships
Today (8 August), the Year 6 Mixed Netball team competed in the Regionals at Cardinia Life (Pakenham). After winning all of the games in their pool, the team headed into the Semi Final and came out on top which then sent them through to the Grand Final!!!
- Game 1 vs Pearcedale won 15 - 7
- Game 2 vs Lyndale won 27- 2
- Game 3 vs Berwick won 17 - 9
- Semi Final vs Chairo won 13 - 9
- Grand Final against Berwick won 13-11
As champions of the Southern Metro Regional Finals, the team now progress to the State Championships to be held on Friday 13 September!!!
We played so hard and consistently and were resilient to the end. The Grand Final was extremely close and in the dying minute of the game we were up by 1 goal with the centre pass to convert to a 2 goal lead and the win overall. We finished in the Top 8 teams out of 300 in the State to make it to the Regional Finals which is an achievement in its own right!
Best of luck team - you've got this!!!
Year 6 Girls Netball Victoria Schools Championships Tournament
This year BNPS registered a team of Year 6 girls in the Netball Victoria Schools Championships (one of the largest netball tournaments conducted in Australia!) and played in a preliminary Round Robin day on Monday 5 August at Knox Netball Centre. The team had a great day out with the following results:
- Won the first game 6 - 3
- Won the second 27 - 0
- Lost the third 4 - 14
- Won the last 9 - 4
Unfortunately, because we lost one game the team will not progress through to the next round. The girls played so well and had great fun on the day.
Thank you to Mrs Duffy for making the trip out to support the team and for all her great netball tips!
