ENGLISH

A time for reflection and celebration

It’s been another big term in English. Despite students not being in class, they have remained engaged in literature, particularly through the Writer Of The Month competition. The competition’s coordinator, Ms Pentland has reviewed a huge number of entries, with September seeing a record fourteen winners announced, who will each receive House Cup points and a $30 voucher to Benn’s Books.

All entrants are to be congratulated and a big ‘thank you’ goes to Ms Pentland for her tireless work.

We’ve also had several students enter the Glen Eira ‘My Brother Jack’ writing competition, the results of which will be announced later in the year.

Our Year 12 students have completed their last SACs and now move to exam revision, with the English and EAL exam on Tuesday 10 November and Literature on Wednesday 18 November.

In class, students have completed a terrific term of work studying books, films and persuasive articles and have produced a range of creative and analytical pieces. Students are to be commended for their resilience and positive work ethic during remote learning, as are their English teachers who have continued delivering engaging lessons so that each student has an opportunity to succeed and grow.

We hope everyone enjoys a safe and relaxing holiday.
