UHS Sport Update


Across a very busy term so far, we have had multiple sporting events across the UHS sport program with some outstanding results achieved by our students. 

 

Regional Swimming Championships

 

The UHS swim team ventured out to WaterMarc pool for the Regional Swimming Championships. Coming home Region Champs! Back to Back years we have won this event which is an amazing effort by all that competed on the day defeating over 100 schools within or region. Congratulations to the list below who will be representing UHS proudly at the State Swimming Championships held at MSAC on 28th April:

*Special mention to Michael Streader of 12G3 who finished 2nd 4 times! Has been a great swimmer for UHS and we wish him all the absolute best in his future endeavours post his time at UHS.

Division Sport

Throughout Term 1, we sent out teams across all year levels to compete in the Inner North Division interschool with over 700 students representing UHS on sports day across Tennis, Cricket, Baseball, Softball & Volleyball. These teams competed against our neighbouring schools within the area for the opportunity to progress through to the next regional level.

Some fantastic results with both our Year 7, Year 8, Intermediate and Senior boys' tennis teams progressing onto the regional stage as well as our Intermediate girl's tennis team. Our Intermediate boys volleyball team also progressing onto the regional stage. Congratulations and good luck to all at the region championships in each sport.

Term 2

Looking ahead to Term 2 sport we will have both the Division Athletics (Tuesday 16th of May) as well as the Division Cross Country (Tuesday 30th May) so runners get ready for a big term 2! We will also have our normal term 2 interschool sports such as AFL, soccer, netball, and badminton. Please keep an eye on the sports noticeboard and compass to make sure you are up to date with any sign ups or preferences.
