2023 The Australian Computational and Linguistics Olympiad (OzClo)


On Wednesday the 1st of March, over 90 English language students and high ability English students, completed in The Australian Computational Linguistics Olympiad (OzCLo). The contest challenges students to work in teams in order to problem solve about fascinating real languages. The afternoon marked the first round of the competition, with the second round (Nationals) to be held at a later date and by invitation only. Winners of the National Round are extended the opportunity to represent Australia at the International Linguistics Olympiad (IOL) later in the year.

 

This opportunity was undertaken as part of the Victorian Challenge and Enrichment Series (Student Excellence) and was fully funded by the Department of Education. 

Organised by Isabella Miller, one of our English Language teachers, the day was an absolute success with students from Years 7s to 12 competing.
