A new year and a chance to talk about Bodies, puberty and growing up

It's been a year now since COVID-19 first landed on our shores – a year since we first went into lockdown. We’d like to thank the schools that have stuck by us through this last year, whether it be through our virtual programs or booking school visits for this year. But with the extended lockdowns in Victoria, we're aware that many students may have missed their usual health programs. And hey, no judgement on our part, there’s been a LOT to deal with. That’s why we’ve developed special live online workshops both for parents/carers alone and for parents/carers and their children to attend. Our Parent & Child online workshops are designed to give parents and their child a comprehensive crash course in all things bodies and puberty, while helping start those tricky conversations that they can then continue after the laptop is closed. After our last round, all our parents surveyed said that they would be very likely to recommend the workshop to other parents.

Let's Talk: Bodies, Puberty & Growing Up (Years 5-6) What parents and their child will learn:

the changes of puberty and how to manage them
names and functions of reproductive body parts
body safety and the importance of trusted adults and someone to talk to

Parents can choose one of the following dates:

Wednesday 17 March 7:00-8.00pm (AEST)
Thursday 25 March 7:00-8.00pm (AEST)
Monday 29 March 7:00-8.00pm (AEST)

Cost: $25 per family Our online Parent Information Evening serves as a great introductory course to the Parent & Child online workshops. Held on March 9, over the course of the hour-long session parents and carers will learn how to navigate their child's tricky questions and how to become their 'go-to' person, plus a whole lot more. Just a reminder that this is a session for parents/carers only. Cost: $15 per parent/couple We would greatly appreciate you passing on the flyers and information about these workshops (flyers below) to the parents and caregivers in your school's community.

We have 12 School study desks for free for anyone who wants one in their home for the kids to do homework. At this stage there are no chairs but there will be many more desks and chairs available soon as we update the furniture in the 3/4 learning spaces this term. If you'd like one of these desks please call Sue in the office.
