Learning Space Update

'We aim to help students grow in their learning and faith journey. We embrace a dynamic, differentiated learning program of explicit teaching in vast spaces with an exciting Sports, Arts, Sustainability and Design and Digital Technologies Curriculum (STEM), supporting a contemporary focus on the future and utilising the beautiful beach areas for learning and play.'

Spotlight on Level 3 and 4

In the Year 3&4 classrooms have been learning about the location of Australia’s neighbouring countries and the diverse characteristics of their places. One of the activities we have completed is a ‘Refugee Prayer Pilgrimage’

A pilgrimage is a prayerful journey that people make to a special place— sometimes to a church. This pilgrimage had a prayerful focus on refugees, the students were encouraged to “walk alongside” refugees like Jamila from Bangladesh who are forced to make very dangerous journeys to find safety and a better life. We learnt about Jamilla and her story during our Religion sessions last week.

The children walked the pilgrimage in their classroom, discussing challenges refugees face every day. These included malnourishment, being forced to leave home and separation from families. The students then completed prayers as a reflection of their learning.
