Congratulations to Andrea O'Grady who won the Secondary Teacher Category, and to Helena Tutoe who won the School Officer Category at the Docemus Awards Ceremony. This is such a deserving acknowledgement for both Andrea and Helena. We are blessed with such passionate, dedicated and talented staff.

Tahlulah and Indianna discussed the QLD high performance Rugby Leaque Program, the Cowboys Touch Program and they are passing on their knowledge to juniors at their local clubs! We're proud of your achievements!

Salmui Farrar (Year 12) and Patricia Fa’anana (Year 11)

 

Awesome work from our very own netball stars Patty and Salmui, joined by 2019 graduate, Tianu, who have been selected to represent the regions Northern Ray's U18 Netball team this year!

 

Our Rays 18U team working hard at training today followed by a team dinner at Brothers Leagues Club Townsville, major Sponsor of the Northern Rays.

 

Lara Lane (Year 7)

 

Lara competed in the QLD State Athletics Cross Country Championships in Brisbane on 5th September.  She ran 3km and placed 13th in QLD with an impressive time of 11.15!

The challenging course is well known for its countless hills, aptly called Heartbreak Hill!

Well done, Lara. Such a great achievement!

 

Ava McIntyre (Year 8)

 

Ava competed in the QLD State Athletics Cross Country Championships in Brisbane on 5th September.  She knew it was going to be a tough race given how challenging the course is and having only recently recovered from a knee injury. Despite this, she showed true grit and determination and finished 16th in her age group. This is a fantastic result! Well done, Ava!

 

Ava also spent her day competing in the Cairns Crocs Coral Coast Triathlon as the youngest athlete (13 years old racing in the female 14-15 years age group). She had an incredible race and finished 2nd place with the fastest run time and 2nd fastest swim. Ava was thrilled to finish 16th overall in a competitive group of 39 athletes.

 

Charline Scherer (Year 9) 

 

Charline competed in the Cairns Crocs Coral Coast Triathlon and placed 3rd which is a fantastic result! Distances were 750m swim, 20km ride, 5km run and it was a sprint distance triathlon.

Bree Pendrigh (Year 8)

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Congratulations to Bree Pendrigh who is shining on the hockey field. Bree had an amazing first experience at the Under 19 Hockey tournament this week. She was the youngest in the peninsula team and fortunate to be involved in the team who finished in a well-deserved 4th position. The girls played 7 games over 4 days with 1 draw, 3 loses and 2 wins.
