ACC ATHLETICS SUMMARY
Last term, Sacred Heart recorded our 24th consecutive ACC 'A' Division Athletics win. The margin of 221 points was the fifth largest in its history. The College also won five of the seven trophies on offer, with the Junior Girls and Junior Boys dominating their age divisions.
While every athlete contributed to the win, there were some main performances that need to be acknowledged.
UNDER 13
- Emilia Reed (Year 7 Normandy) performed brilliantly, winning the division one 100m, 200, 400m, hurdles and long jump to claim the Champion Female for the age group.
- Tilly Cook (Year 7 Normandy) was excellent in the sprints, winning the 100m, 200m double and leading the victorious relay team.
- Ruby Zuchetti (Year 7 Normandy) hurdled brilliantly to win her race in the fastest time of both males and females in the age group. She also won her discus and relay event.
- Nadija Stojkovski (Year 7 Carden) comfortably won her long jump event and was a member of the successful relay team.
- Mackenzie Gilford (Year 7 Trinity) ran well in the middle distance and won her 1500m race.
- Jasmine Giles (Year 7 Kimberley) performed well in the 400m and all the throwing events.
- Vienna Matera (Year 7 Kimberley) ran well in the middle distance and also placed 2nd in javelin.
- Multi-class athlete Meg Connolly (Year 7 Hannan) performed brilliantly, breaking two records in the U13 400m and 800m.
- Luca Papotto (Year 7 O'Reilly) was outstanding, winning the Champion Male for the age group with 76 points - the highest score of any Sacred Heart competitor. Wins in the 100m, 400m and discus were the highlight.
- Harry Lee (Year 7 Carden) ran brilliantly to easily win his 800m and record a close 2nd in the 400m.
- Sam O’Brien (Year 7 Carden) ran courageously to register close 2nds in the middle distance.
- Ben Hawkins (Year 7 Barlow) threw well to win his discus event and came 4th in hurdles.
- Emmet Kelly (Year 7 Thu Duc) recorded a solid 3rd placing in 1500m.
- Nicholas Wilson (Year 7 Trinity) performed well in javelin with a 2nd placing.
UNDER 14
- Kate Philpott (Year 8 Barlow) performed brilliantly to come 2nd in the Champion Female for the age group. Wins in the 100m, 200m and hurdles were the highlight.
- Lucia Rao (Year 8 Kimberley) was a major contributor with wins in the 100m, 400m and long jump and 2nd in the 200m.
- Dylan Begley (Year 8 Barlow) was a strong performer with a win in the 400m and 3rd in the 800m.
- Chloe Hastie (Year 8 Barlow) was rewarded for her hard work with an excellent win in the 100m.
- Hayley Cavanagh (Year 8 Thu Duc)hurdled brilliantly to win her event.
- Zadie Torkington (Year 8 Hannan) easily won her shot put event and placed 4th in discus.
- Evvie O’Rourke (Year 8 Thu Duc) won her discus event for the second year in a row.
- Makenzi Aloi (Year 8 O'Reilly) and Jaydn Buckley (Year 8 Carden) ran solid races in the middle distance.
- Heidi Walker (Year 8 Kimberley) recorded a good 3rd place in division one shot put.
- Tyson Musca (Year 8 Hannan) was the highest scoring male in the age group with 38 points. Good placings in long jump, 400m, shot put and 100m were the highlight.
- Zac Varricchio (Year 8 Hannan) ran brilliantly to win the division one 400m and placed close 2nds with fast times in 800m and 1500m.
- Austin George Thamadom (Year 8 Normandy)was a major contributor, with a win in the 100m, 2nd in 200m and leading off the winning relay team.
- Campbell Creyk (Year 10 Normandy) brilliantly won his hurdles event, recorded a good 3rd in high jump and was a part of the winning relay team.
- Tomas Avecilla Puebla (Year 8 Thu Duc) ran very well in the middle distance, winning his 1500m and placing 2nd in the 800m.
- Myles Reynders (Year 8 O'Reilly) was a member of the victorious relay team.
- Parker Howard (Year 8 Carden) and Declan Cooper (Year 8 Hannan) recorded good 3rds in discus and high jump respectively.
UNDER 15
- Aqua Samuels (Year 9 Trinity) was the second best performing female in this age group with 45 points. Wins in hurdles, high jump and relay, 2nd in 100m and 3rd in long jump were the highlights.
- Grace Simms (Year 9 Carden) had a good day, winning her high jump and relay events.
- Olivia Creyk (Year 9 Normandy) hurdled well to win her event.
- Harriet O’Brien (Year 9 Carden) and Carmen Wheeler (Year 9 Trinity) were both members of the victorious relay team.
- Jade White (Year 9 Hannan) was a strong contributor with 2nds in discus and shot put and 4ths in javelin and long jump.
- Erika Murphy (Year 9 O'Reilly) ran strongly to gain good 3rds in the division one middle distance events.
- Isabella Elliott (Year 7 O'Reilly) raced up two age groups to record a great 2nd in the 1500m.
- Samara Tonkin (Year 9 Kimberley) ran a very credible 3rd in the 800m.
- Multi-class athlete Bridget Gibbons (Year 9 Thu Duc) also performed brilliantly.
- Mide Onikola (Year 9 Carden) was rewarded for his hard training, coming equal 3rd in the Champion Male for the age group. Wins in hurdles, 100m, high jump and 2nds in 200m and long jump were the highlights.
- Oskar Tindall (Year 9 Barlow) was also equal 3rd in the Champion Male with 46 points. A win in hurdles and 2nds in high jump and long jump were the highlights.
- Matthew Dodds (Year 9 Carden) ran brilliantly to win the 800m and 1500m in fast times.
- Noah McEntee (Year 9 Normandy) also ran great races, winning the 800m and placing 2nd in the 1500m.
- Sam Carmignani (Year 9 Kimberley) threw brilliantly to win both his shot put and discus events.
- Caelan Thomson (Year 9 Barlow) and Alex Catalano (Year 9 Kimberley) registered very good 2nds in division one shot put and discus respectively.
- Antonio Crupi (Year 9 Trinity) ran a creditable 3rd in his 400 event.
UNDER 16
- Sienna Maltese (Year 8 Kimberley) performed brilliantly, placing 3rd in the Champion Female with 59 points. Wins in hurdles and relay and 2nds in 100, 200 and 400m were the highlights.
- Cindi Williams (Year 10 Kimberley) was a major contributor, with wins in 200m, 400m and relay and a 3rd in javelin.
- Zahra Buckley (Year 10 Carden) sprinted brilliantly to win the 100m and relay.
- Kate Johnson (Year 10 Trinity) threw a big personal best to win the division one javelin.
- Leah Dineen (Year 10 Trinity) and Zoe Moore (Year 10 Thu Duc) ran excellent races in their 800m and 1500m events.
- Caprice Naumovski (Year 10 O'Reilly) was a member of the victorious relay team.
- Mily Johns (Year 10 Hannan) ran a very creditable 2nd in her hurdles race.
- Liv Cole (Year 9 Hannan) competed up an age group and recorded an excellent 2nd in long jump.
- Despite competing up an age group, Cash Nation (Year 9 Barlow) performed brilliantly - placing 2nd in the Champion Male for the age group. Wins in hurdles and 200m and 3rd in high jump were the highlights.
- Jake Bird (Year 10 O'Reilly) was a strong contributor, with a win in hurdles and a 2nd in the 200m.
- Lucas Nelson (Year 10 Trinity) and Aaron Keating (Year 10 Barlow) threw brilliantly to comfortably win their javelin events.
- Jack Sprigg (Year 10 Thu Duc) and Byron Martin (Year 10 Hannan) ran great races in the 1500m.
- Brady Passera (Year 10 O'Reilly) and Kade Orzanski (Year 10 Trinity) were solid contributors in shot put.
- Nathan Taylor (Year 10 Hannan) recorded a very good 2nd in his 100m race.
- Finn Scanlan (Year 10 Thu Duc) ran a very solid 3rd in his 400m event.
UNDER 19
- Isabella Rao (Year 11 Kimberley) was once again a great performer, coming equal 1st in the Champion Female with 63 points. A win in discus and 2nds in 100m and high jump and 3rds in hurdles and long jump were the highlights.
- Siena Tonkin (Year 11 Kimberley) was a major contributor, with a record breaking win in javelin and 2nds in 400m and shot put.
- Kayley Thomas (Year 8 Kimberley) raced up three age groups and finished a very creditable 3rd in her 1500m race.
- Ashley Murphy (Year 11 O'Reilly)and Jazmyn Hay (Year 10 Hannan), who raced up two year groups, tried very hard in the middle distance events.
- Alex Day (Year 11 Thu Duc) sprinted brilliantly to win the division one 100m and was 3rd in the 200m.
- Louis Hadfield (Year 11 Normandy) was a strong contributor, winning his hurdles race and picking up good placings in the 100m and 200m.
- Alex Stewart (Year 12 Barlow) hurdled brilliantly to easily win the division one hurdles race.
- Owen Hurley (Year 12 Normandy) ran a very solid 2nd in the 800m.
- Nicholas Rose (Year 11 Normandy) threw very well to gain a strong 2nd in his division one javelin event.
Our multi class athletes, Meg Connolly (Year 7 Hannan) and Bridget Gibbons (Year 9 Thu Duc) performed brilliantly, with Meg breaking two records in the Under 13 400m and 800m.
