THE CLASS OF 2022

Welcome back to Term 4. Our Year 12 students have just concluded their end of year examinations. I anticipate that the students have performed well and will now enter their final preparation before the commencement of their WACE Examinations in a few weeks’ time. I ask that you continue to keep our Year 12 students in your prayers as they enter the final chapter of their secondary education.

Our Class of 2022 will graduate from our College next week and I very much look forward to celebrating this special occasion with them, their families and staff on Sunday 23 October.

YEAR 10 RECONNECTION AND RETREAT

This week, our Year 10 cohort participated in the Reconnection and Retreat Days. The Retreat Day was held at Integrity House in Osborne Park and was facilitated by the Youth Mission Team.

Students spent the day playing games, watching drama, and reflecting on their roles as agents of social justice, living out their vocation to bring healing and peace to those around them. Thank you to all staff who ensured that these events ran smoothly.

In the last Newsletter of Term 3, I highlighted some outstanding achievements in Tournament of Minds (TOM), RoboCup and Netball. I am delighted to inform you that four of the five finalist TOM teams won the State Final. Impressively, the College won every division of the competition for the first time in TOM history and will be competing in the National Final in Canberra this weekend.

SISTERS OF OUR LADY OF THE MISSIONS

This weekend, the Sisters of Our Lady of the Missions will celebrate the foundation of their Congregation 160 years ago in Lyon, France and also 125 years since the Sisters' first arrival in Perth. The 125 year celebration is a strong reminder of the dedication and hard work of the Sisters who established the beautiful College we enjoy today.  We are very grateful to the Sisters and we wish them well for their special celebration.

Sadly, Sr Anne Noonan RNDM passed away recently. Her funeral mass will be held on Monday 17 October. Our sincere condolences and prayers to the Sisters, Sr Anne’s family and her friends.

STAFFING

Recently, I received resignations from Mathematics Teacher, Miss Sophie Brouwer and Psychologist, Mrs Jessica Fitzsimmons.  We wish both Sophie and Jess all the very best for their future endeavours and sincerely thank them both for their contribution to the College.

God Bless.
