RETREATS AND REFLECTIONS

On Monday and Wednesday of this week, Year 10 students participated in both a Rites of Passage Day and a day of retreat and reflection. Both of these opportunities echo Jesus’ call to his disciples to “come away with me. Let us go alone to a quiet place and rest for a while.” (Mark 6).

Amid our busy 21st Century lives where we are always connected and always 'on', taking a moment for peace and stillness - for reflection - is a counter-cultural act!

The Year 10s had a relaxed and fun day exploring their role as agents of God’s justice, peace and healing. Through games, drama skits, videos and small group discussions, students recognised the importance of not underestimating the difference they can make in the lives of others. Many thanks to the 24:7 Youth Mission Team for their professional facilitation of the day and to the Year 10 PCG teachers and all our students for their joyful participation.

RNDM - 125 YEARS IN WESTERN AUSTRALIA

Tomorrow (Saturday 15 October), the RNDM Sisters will celebrate an anniversary Eucharist to mark 125 years of their presence in Australia. Celebrated at Sacred Heart Church in Highgate, the site of their first foundation, RNDM Sisters and friends from around Australia, including some Sacred Heart College staff, will gather for this special event.

We take this opportunity to thank our Founding Order for their ongoing presence in our community, for being the heirs of their vision and mission, and to ask God’s blessing on their current and future endeavours.
