APPLECARE+ EXTENDED COVERAGE

An Apple MacBook is the most common device used by students in our College community and many of these devices will be associated with an AppleCare+ plan. AppleCare+ for Mac provides expert technical support and additional hardware coverage from Apple, including incidents of accidental damage protection. 

Apple have made changes to how this protection plan functions. This protection can now be purchased as a subscription beyond the end of the original AppleCare+ plan first purchased with a new device. This extended protection can be subscribed to if purchased within 30 days of the original plan expiring. Apple will continue to support devices with an active AppleCare+ plan for as long as it has repair parts for a given device. Part of Apple’s terms and conditions states that Apple will automatically cancel your plan if it doesn’t have the necessary parts anymore and is unable to honour the coverage of the plan.

Parents/caregivers are encouraged to visit mysupport.apple.com to find out the status of their current AppleCare+ plan and to see if they are eligible to purchase an extended protection plan.
