Meet Our Staff 

Katherine Warriner

Acting Assistant Principal

Katherine joined Nossal High School as a Chemistry and Science teacher in 2012. She became the school’s Director of VCE in 2014 and then Director of VCE and Pathways in 2019. In Mr Page’s absence, Katherine is acting as the Assistant Principal: Curriculum and Pedagogy. She welcomes your questions about the Teaching and Learning program at the school.

Stuart Fankhauser

Director of Digital 

Development & Innovation

Stuart Fankhauser has been a member of Nossal staff since 2010 having begun his teaching career in 1999. As well as teaching Physics and Digital Technology, Stuart has an avid interest in the effective application of digital technologies that assist with teaching and learning. He has held a variety of leadership positions in teaching and technology related roles for the last 20 years and is currently Nossal’s Director of Digital Development and Innovation. Stuart is always happy to answer enquiries regarding Nossal’s use of digital technology and its place in education.

Angus Clark

Director of Curriculum & Pedagogy

Angus joined Nossal as one of the Foundation staff members in 2010 and has been working in gifted education for over 15 years. He teaches Philosophy, Global Politics and Humanities and served as Domain Leader of Humanities for five years. He is now the Director of Curriculum and Pedagogy and therefore welcomes any questions you may have about the lower school curriculum, teaching practices at Nossal, reporting or study skills.

Juliea Sylwka

Digital Media & Events 

Coordinator

Juliea has been with Nossal since 2013. She joined the Education Support Staff as our Digital Delivery Officer and now manages the schools Communication, Media, Events and Enrolment.  She is the first contact most families will have with the school through email and social media and she is the one that keeps our families abreast of what is happening at Nossal.

Clare Budd

Director of Music

Clare Budd began at Nossal in 2011 as the first official Director of Music. In 2020 after family leave, Clare returned to Nossal. Having been a keen music student herself throughout her schooling, Clare is passionate about helping our students to engage in the music program at Nossal. She oversees the instrumental music program as well as teaching the classroom music program, and can be contacted if you have any music-related enquiries.

Rian Labrooy

Director of Years 9 & 10 

Rian is a Foundation Staff-member of Nossal HS, having joined in 2010 as a graduate science teacher. Over the years he has contributed to the school community through a range of leadership roles and now holds the position of Director of Years 9 & 10. Rian’s background in wellbeing and his organised and outgoing nature enable his work in this key leadership role as part of the Middle School and Wellbeing teams. He welcomes any questions about the Year 9 and Year 10 programs.

Julie Northey

Attendance Officer

Julie joined Nossal in Mid 2019 as the Attendance Officer, which is her main role. She is a part of the Student Wellbeing Team.  She also co-ordinates the Year 10 Immunisation, along with Dental Visits, First-aid, Work Experience, Uniform, duty students, supports the Heads of Houses and Middle School with various administration duties. She enjoys talking to people and building strong relationships with Parents, Students and Staff.
