Year 7 Reflection Day

On Monday our Year 7 Students enjoyed their Reflection Day experience with ‘Just Motivation’, lead by Guest Presenter Mr Az Hamilton. Az has an incredible ability to connect with young people through stories and personal experiences spent both overseas and within Australian communities. His message inspired our students to live a life worth getting excited about through his program titled ‘Connections’. Year 7 journeyed through the program; discovering more about themselves, their relationships with members of their year group, and their relationship with God.

Az showcased his personal experiences throughout the day; sharing insights on life and truth with our students. He touched on being evacuated from the volatile nation of Haiti in 2008, spending time in Kenya's Mathare Slum in 2011 and living in some of Australia's roughest areas. These personal experiences have given Az Hamilton a unique view on the world and a strong authority to speak on Catholic Social Justice issues being faced in our own country and beyond our Australian borders. With a decade of experience in media, communication and humanitarian work, Az Hamilton engaged our students to realise their call to mission; challenging their minds, hearts, and hands to connect with small ideas that can bring about BIG change in the world.

Gideon's International - Bible Presentation to Year 7

Gideon's International is the result of a meeting between two men who wished to band commercial travelers together for evangelism. What began in 1908 as an Association of Christian businessmen placing Bibles in hotel rooms, has today evolved into an expanding mission to provide Scriptures to all people, in nearly every facet of life. Gideon's share the word of God with more than 2 billion people, in more than 95 languages, across 200 countries. Our Year 7 Students, were fortunate enough to have to a visit from Gideon's on Monday to receive the gift of a pocket sized Bible for them to use during their TED Religious Education Lessons and throughout their years at the College. We thank David and John from Gideon's for their tireless efforts and on-going association with our community.    

Year 12 Retreat at Warrambui

Our Year 12 Students and Staff Faith Formation Team have been at Warrambui throughout this week for their Retreat.  The wonderful opportunity to come together as a year group on Retreat is facilitated by the legendary Chris Doyle from Karis Ministries, along with College Staff. The focus for our Students is on deepening their relationship with their families, friends and God in a beautiful setting. “It was a great time to connect with our peers and get to know one another better and become a better year group as a whole!”

May this retreat inspire their journey through their head, heart and hands;
