Swimming Carnival

2019 MDCC Swimming Carnival

The 2019 College Twilight Swimming / Diving Carnival was held on Thursday 7 February, in overcast conditions, with the threat of lightning resulting in the shuffling of the program. After a night of record breaking close competition, Webber House claimed their first title since 2009, the first year of the 5 House system at Mater Dei.

Our College Swimming Carnival aims to provide opportunity for competition as well as participation. This year a highlight of the carnival once again was the inclusion of the 50m events for Athlete’s With a Disability (AWD). It was great to see an even broader array of students given the opportunity to represent their House and show the school community their ability.  The novelty events again proved popular and gave all students the chance to represent their House and contribute points for the carnival. It was great to see so many parents cheering on the competitors throughout the night.

Congratulations to Webber House  and to all who participated in the true spirit of the evening.
