Year 12 Music Excursion to Encore and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory the Musical

Year 12 Music 1 students were fortunate to spend two days in Sydney last weekend to see two outstanding music concerts. The first, "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory the Musical" was held at the Capitol Theatre. The highlight of the show was the music featuring original songs from the film, including Pure Imagination and The Candy Man as well as new music composed by Marc Shaiman and Scott Whittman, the Composer and Lyricist from the musical "Hairspray". Another highlight of the show included the vivid portrayal of the characters from the original movie live on stage, including the Oompa Loompas.

The second performance was "Encore" which showcased outstanding music performances from the 2018 HSC practical Music examination. This was held at the Concert Hall of the Sydney Opera House. A variety of musical styles including classical, jazz and music of a culture were featured in the program. We wish our Music 1 HSC class all the best as they now prepare their own program of performances for their practical examination which will be held in Term 3.

Interested students should:

Be reliable

Be organised

Be committed

Be persistent

Enjoy singing all styles of choral music

Choir will run during lunch time every Friday in the Music Room. Friday Week 4 students have the opportunity to sign up and participate in a rehearsal.
