Volunteering Opportunities
Homework Club
There is a great volunteering opportunity available to all Years 10-12 students this year at Neighbourhood House every Tuesday from 4-5pm during the school term.
Diversitat runs a homework club for primary school students in Colac, many of whom do not speak English as their first language. The volunteers helps them with their work, and give them opportunities to socialise and improve their English speaking skills. You do not need to have any special skills to be involved - just a smile and a willingness to help.
There is no major commitment- your name will go on a roster and you could be involved as often as you like - once a week, a month, etc.
St Vincent de Paul Society
The Colac St Vincent de Paul shop have asked whether any Trinity College students would be interested in volunteering some time to work at the store.
Students will need to be aged over 15 and have parental permission. The type of commitment will vary and is very flexible - it could be 1 hour a week/fortnight or more, after school or on Saturdays. This is a great way of giving back to our community and to help support an organisation that does so much good for others. Refer to this website which provides an explanation of the application process - Vinnies Shops - St Vincent de Paul Society - Good Works
Please contact Daniel Rodway for further information about either of these opportunities.
