The Trades Fit Expo 

On Thursday 11 May, Ms Libby Ryan and I took a small bus load of very eager and keen young women to Melbourne to ‘The Trades Fit: Young Women in Trades and Tech Expo’. 

We were able to wander the vast area of the Melbourne Convention Centre to see and speak with the large range of exhibitors who were showcasing opportunities available to young women. It was interactive, so the girls were able to get ‘hands-on’ with some of the trades and tech areas. 

The Trades Fit Expo demonstrated the exciting world of trade and tech industries and the rewarding, well-paid career opportunities they can provide to young women. It was amazing to see so many different industries, many of whom we would never think to explore. The students thoroughly enjoyed themselves and it opened up their eyes to what opportunities are available – you just need to explore!
