Sustainability at TCC

Monday 5 June, 2023 will see World Environment Day (click link) acknowledged around the world and we’re celebrating the opportunities that we have to do our bit for the environment for a whole week at Trinity! This year’s theme is ‘Solutions to plastic pollution’, so what a fitting time to host our next Nude Food Day. We are very excited that our Year 7 students will be attending a live performance (details on PAM) of the sustainability-inspired musical ‘Junklandia’ and students will work prior to this performance during iLeap to learn more about sustainability, as well as being able to suggest areas of action that they would like to see in the world and in our community.

Competitions will be available to all students as outlined below and all students are encouraged to enter for the chance to win some great reusable prizes including stainless steel bento-styled lunchboxes. On Thursday 8 June we will host another Nude Food Day where all students and staff are encouraged to bring food items free of single-use packaging in order to positively assist in providing solutions to the plastic pollution that surrounds us every day. Students who bring ‘Nude Food’ on this day are invited to socialise over lunch on the provided picnic blankets within the Jubilee Foyer and enjoy listening to live music at Break 1 on this day. On Friday June 9, our acknowledgement of the need for better care for the environment continues, with a screening of ‘Regenerating Australia’ happening for interested students to view at Break 1 (starting 11.15am).
