Principal's Report

A warm welcome to our school community - this is the first edition of our re-introduced Fairhills High School Newsletter.   Access to this twice a term Newsletter will be via a Compass notification to families or the Newsletter link on the school website home page.

Term 3 has begun with a number of activities taking place including the Musical Production Trivia Night, the Annual Music Concert, VCE Pathways Information Evening, the Cambodia trip fundraising movie night and a Knox Police Student Symposium.

Recently our Year 12 students participated in the Wellbeing Day to focus on stress management, team building and motivational skills to support students to complete final stages of year 12 with an afternoon session  of Go-Karting at Sidetracked Entertainment.

Students from Japan are currently on a 2 week study tour at Fairhills.  Thank you to the families who are hosting.  The students will participate in activities including attending classes, a Mayoral Reception at the City of Knox, excursions to Mountain Gate Primary School, Phillip Island, Queen Victoria Market & City Tour.

We would like to highlight the actions of one of our students  who recently assisted a sight impaired elderly man who fell from the platform at Boronia station onto the tracks causing significant injuries. Following our student's good example, several other bystanders also  jumped onto the track and together helped the injured man and carried him to safety before a train arrived. Our hero  was Year 10 Fairhills student Rhyley Considine.  As a school and community we are extremely proud of Rhyley.  His example and care for others is something we are delighted to recognise. This week the elderly man's wife visited the school and  presented Rhyley with a generous gift and thanked him on behalf of her family.
